Life throws up lots of challenges (and changes) and counselling can help you to navigate these and to work out your way forward. Anxiety, addiction, bereavement, loss, depression, relationship breakdown, self-esteem - these are all examples of issues I am trained to work with as a qualified counsellor.
About me and my practice
I would welcome any issue that you would like to explore with person-centred counselling, the idea being that you are the expert on yourself and I can help you to facilitate that. I have a lot of experience of working with individuals who identify as LGB or T and offer a non-judgemental space to discuss identity, sexuality and gender, amongst other issues. Sessions are 1 hour and I offer a free 20 minute telephone or online consultation to see if we could work well together.
In addition to my experience of working with LGBT individuals, I also have a background of working in the media (inc television) so I understand the nature of that industry in terms of work-place stress issues.
Experience
I have been involved in volunteer counselling for a number of years, having volunteered with The LGBT Foundation and also with Childline. As well as being qualified for private practice, I am also a volunteer counsellor with MIND.
I presented a radio programme for the LGBT Community in Manchester called GayTalk.
